Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
-
- Do I have time to make a late show reservation after the Grand Canyon Tour?
-
It is recommended that you not make show reservations on the same night as your tour. Traffic over the Hoover Dam and on the strip can be unpredictable. Although we make our best effort to expedite your travel time, there can be unforeseen circumstances. We consider the South Rim to be a full day tour (14 hours).

Is the River Raft Tour white water rafting?
-
The River Raft Tour starts at the base of Hoover Dam and the water is still. The rafts are equipped with engines and provide seating for 30 to 40 people. To reach the rafts, there is a short paved walkway. Therefore, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
-
-
Will our cameras and clothing get wet on the River Raft?
-
You may feel a small amount of mist. The raft captains try their best to prevent this from happening, especially in the winter months! Your personal belongings may also get misted. Therefore, we recommend that you layer your clothing. There is a short stop on the beach for lunch, but it is dry for the most part.

-
Are the vehicles restroom equipped and air-conditioned?
-
All our vehicles are equipped with restrooms and have climate control features!

-
What about wheelchair accessibility?
-
We can accommodate wheelchairs on our tours, however a special LIFT BUS must be requested in advance, if the passenger cannot get out of his/her wheelchair or it is motorized. If it is a collapsible wheelchair and the passenger can get onto the bus without the chair, a LIFT BUS is not required. The chair will be stored underneath in the baggage compartment. If a motorized wheelchair is being used, you MUST request a special LIFT BUS, even if the passenger is able to board the bus on his or her own. The motorized chairs are too heavy to lift onto the bus.

-
Do reservations need to be made in advance?
-
It is recommended that you make your reservations as far in advance as possible, however, it does depend on the time of year and the tour that you are looking to book. Next and same day reservations are taken when seats are available.

Is there security at the Hoover Dam?
-
The safety of our passengers is our number one priority and our first CORE VALUE. Security at the Hoover Dam is strictly enforced. Luggage and large bags are prohibited. This applies to all motor coaches crossing the dam to get to the Grand Canyon. Ladies handbags, camcorder cases and cameras are allowed, but are subject to search.

The tour of the interior goes as far as the intake valves. The National Park Service offers an additional interior tour which can be purchased separately at the Hoover Dam ($8/subject to change). Your time at the dam is your own. You will be there for two hours. There are snack and souvenir shops.
